Annual Technology Protection Plan

Elegiable

Students in grades K-12 are eligible to elect the Technology Protection Plan, Students in PreK are not eligible for Protection Plan coverage.

Individual Student Plan - $30

Plan covers one student and one Chromebook
Plan covers 2 claims (repairable incidents)
Plan will cover the replacement cost of the device 1 time with a $75 deductible
- Replacement of device will consume 2 claims
Plan covers only accidental damage

Family Plan - $60

Plan covers unlimited numbers of students within the same household
Plan covers all Chromebooks assigned to the students in that household
Plan covers 4 claims per household (repairable incidents)
Plan will cover the 2 replacements with a $75 deductible each time per household.
- Replacement of device will consume 2 claims
Plan covers only accidental damage
Procedures for Damages Not Covered

Annual Technology Protection Plan was not purchased.
1. Parent/Guardian/Student will complete the damage report.
2. Technology Department will assess damage and prepare cost to fix.
3. Parent/Guardian/Student will receive an invoice of cost and description of repair.
4. Record of invoice sent and payments received will be sent to the building for the student record.
5. Device will be released back to the student
Annual Technology Protection Plan was purchased, but repair is not covered; Chromebook determined to be lost, stolen, vandalized, neglected, or have multiple accident claims.
1. Parent/Guardian/Student will complete the damage report.
2. Technology Department will assess damage and prepare cost to fix.
3. Technology Department will provide an explanation of why the damage was deemed not to be covered by the Technology Protection Plan.
4. Parent/Guardian/Student will receive an invoice of cost and description of repair.
5. Record of invoice sent and payments received will be sent to the building for the student record.
6. Device will be released back to the student

Coverage and Benefit

This agreement covers the Chromebook loaned to the student against two incidents of accidental damage. The following items are not covered:
Chromebook that is lost or stolen.
Damage caused by negligence, neglect such as leaving it outside or in an automobile, by food or drink, caused by pets, rough handling, excessive sliding across rough surfaces.
Intentional misuse of one’s own or peer’s device.
More than two accidental incidents including more than two broken screens or accessories.
More than two damaged parts that are not related to the same incident

Effective and Expiration

This coverage must be elected no more than 10 business days after receiving your child’s Chromebook and is effective from the date this required form and premium payment are received by the School through the date at which the Chromebook is required to be returned in good order to the School.

Premium

The total premium cost for an Individual Plan is $30 and $60 for the family plan annually. Partial semesters/years are not refundable. It is agreed and understood that:

The Protection Plan is offered to all students.
Participation in the Protection Plan is totally voluntary.

It will be the right of the building principal, Superintendent, Director of Technology, or his/her designee to determine if damages were due to negligence or accidental. The administration will review all damages determined to be from misuse or negligence and will assess the student’s continued privilege of taking the Chromebook to and from School.
