Least Restrictive Environment

Mission:
It is the mission of the Penns Manor School District to provide all students a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), access to regular education environments, and access to grade level general education curriculum (Least Restrictive Environment LRE).  The regular education classroom is the first placement considered for the Individual Education Program Team.  The IEP team, which includes the parents, begins with the general education classroom, with the use of Supplementary Aids and Services.  The team must exhaust the supplementary aids and services in the regular education classroom before consideration of a more restrictive placement.  Federal, State, and Penns Manor policies ensure supportive programs, services, and supports.
