Background Checks

How to Obtain Clearances for Employment:
The Penns Manor Area School District and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) require the following five pre-employment clearances:
  • PA Criminal Record Check (Formerly Act 34 - $22.00 Fee Required)
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Formerly Act 151 - $13.00 Fee Required)
  • Federal Criminal History Record - Fingerprinting (Formerly Act 114 - $22.60 Fee Required)
  • Act 24 - Arrest and Conviction Form (No Cost)
  • Act 168 - Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Form (No Cost)
Although PDE permits clearances to be dated within the last 5 years, the Penns Manor Area School District requires all clearances to be dated within one year at the time of hire.  Original clearances must be presented to the District Office where a copy can be made for our files, and the original can then be returned upon request.  The Penns Manor Area School District does require that all clearances be updated every 5 years.  If there is a break in employment lasting more than one year, new clearances MUST be submitted to the District Office again before rehiring.

As a result of new amendments to the Child Protective Services Law (CPSL), School Code, Penns Manor Area School District is requiring all volunteers aquire the following clearance below. Be sure to file under volunteer for your clearances.
